I referenced Pete Thamel’s recent article in exposing Lane Kiffin for who he is…BEFORE the deflated balls incident. Also talk leadership and getting it done in the clutch!
Oh yes, it’s that time again, my weekly segment with Chad Doing and 750 The Game in Portland. As usual we get into a variety of subjects, including dating. Enjoy!
What a day of football we had this past Saturday! Alabama survived the biggest scare they have had since playing AU in 2009. I always say, ” people forget football is a game of two halves and champions are MADE in the second half.” After talking to the players today, it seems they feel the exact same way.
What about Auburn getting it done, again? All hail Cam Newton, right? He is electric and sturdy, and his height doesn’t hurt either. It might also help that Ted Roof’s D seems to get going when the going is tough. But can they keep up the frenetic pace? Only time will tell.
Florida was able to cruise to an big victory over UK; so much for the statement game by Joker Phillips. You’ll get em’ next year, right coach? Burton is a multi-purposed talent for UF and Brantley seems to be coming along nicely after the early snap problems (that weren’t all him, btw). Alabama will have their hands full this week, whether Demps plays or not. Florida also has two NICE safeties in Will Hill and Ahmad Black that are the last line of defense for the Gators. The match-up between Alabama and Florida feels every bit as big as SEC Championships past.
I recently got to sit down with legendary Bobby Bowden; he is every bit as classy as you would imagine. I will be posting the interview soon.
Happy football, everyone. Don’t blink because it will be over before you know it.
I am SO very excited, football season is just around the corner! I had a blast at Media days in Hoover, I always do. I enjoy visiting with the Coaches and also my fellow media members (see latest photo gallery).
Then, before I knew it, fall camp began. The guys of Alabama are hard at it, knocking each other in the dirt.
I even had a chance to catch up with Coach Saban for a question or two at Fan Day. He was being pulled away, but he was gracious enough to stay and answer my follow up question. See, he’s not as gruff as he sometimes seems.
ONly 23 days my friends, and we will be raising a united cheer for the boys of fall.
Best of luck until then!
It’s that time of year again, SEC Media Days. We are just six weeks away from the season, and for me this is the next best thing to the actual season. I get to mingle with old friends in business, all while talking about the sport I love the BEST.
