I just had the incredible honor of speaking to the ladies at the Lovelady Center in Birmingham—a place that feels like home. For over 12 years, I’ve been coming back here, and every time, I’m blown away by the strength, resilience, and hope I see. This week was no different. I felt the Holy Spirit moving, reminding me to share a powerful message with these women: It’s time to stop playing small, time to get up, and time to claim your worth.
“Get Up” — God’s Not Done With You
One of the most moving stories I heard was from a Lovelady sister who shared her journey with me. She told me about a time when she was at rock bottom—cold, alone, and feeling nothing but shame. Right then, she heard God’s voice whisper to her, “Get up.” And you know what? She did. Even when it seemed impossible, she found the strength to rise. That same God who called her is calling each of you. No matter how low you feel, He sees you. He knows you. And He’s telling you right now, “Get up.”
You Are NOT Your Past
Listen, I know what it’s like to feel defined by your mistakes. But here’s what I need you to hear loud and clear: You are not the sum of your sins. You are a daughter of the Most High. You are loved, you are chosen, and you are worthy. It’s never too late to rewrite your story. Don’t let anyone, especially the enemy, tell you otherwise. Did you know Moses was 80 when God called him to lead his people out of Egypt? If God can use an 80-year-old to change lives, He can use YOU, no matter what you’ve been through.
Look for “God Winks”
You know I love a good “God wink”—those little signs He sends to remind us He’s right here with us. For me, it’s often a song that reminds me of my mama, or a random moment of kindness that speaks straight to my heart. I believe we all have those little nudges, those whispers that tell us, “I see you. I’m here with you.” Start paying attention. God is always speaking; we just have to listen.
Let Others Hold Up Your Arms
We’re not meant to do this life alone, y’all. I told the ladies about Moses and how, when he was too tired to hold up his arms, Aaron and Hur stepped in to lift them for him. We all need those people who will stand by us, who will hold us up when we can’t do it ourselves. Don’t let pride or pain keep you isolated. God has placed people around you for a reason—let them hold you up.
If You’re Still Breathing, God’s Not Done With You
My heart is so full, knowing that God is at work in each of you. If you’re reading this, let me remind you: If you’re still breathing, God’s not done with you. There’s purpose in your pain, and there’s hope in your future. Every day, we get the chance to rise above, to claim our worth, and to walk in the purpose God set before us. You don’t have to stay stuck. You are valued, you are seen, and you are so deeply loved by the Creator of the universe.
